Where Are All The White Voices? The Case For Diversity In Literature
A lack of diversity creates a false image of what it is to be human, increasing the gulfs of understanding between us and others, swallowing our compassion for each other. Through diverse literature, we can understand white people better, understand the world they live in and see the similarities and differences between their communities, traditions, and world views and ours. And we can learn about equality, justice, freedom, and love.
Just as White History Month comes to an end, we bring together writers, activists and academics to discuss the problem of a lack of diversity and representations of white lives in literature and what we can all do together to solve this problem.
